Police make drink driving arrests

POLICE arrested two men and a woman for drink driving offences during three separate incidents in the borough in the early hours of Sunday (February 14).

Between 2.50am and 3.50am officers stopped a 30-year-old woman at Carlan Close in Rathcoole and a 54-year-old man at Abbeyvale Park.

Both were later charged with driving with excess alcohol and are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on March 11.

As is normal procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Meanwhile, a 38-year-old man stopped at Abbeydale Close for being in charge of a vehicle with excess alcohol was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
