Police mount ‘ghost town’ patrols

BALLYMONEY PSNI carried out special ‘ghost town’ patrols in the Loughgiel area on St Patrick’s Day to ensure thieves did not have a field day whilst many people were in Dublin watching Loughgiel Shamrocks.

The Loughgiel area was practically deserted on Saturday and Inspector David Anderson of Ballymoney Police said patrols gave the area extra attention to ensure thieves did not take advantage.

By midday on Monday there were no reports of any burglaries or thefts in the Loughgiel area.
