Police noticed a herbal substance on man’s trousers

During inquiries at an address in Banbridge police noticed a herbal substance on the trousers of a young man who was lying on a sofa at the premesis.

Connor Quigley (21), Edenderry Park, Banbridge, admitted it was cannabis and last Thursday at the local court he was fined £250 for unlawful possession of a class B drug.

He was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that on June 30 this year at 3.35pm police were making inquiries at an address in Banbridge in relation to another matter.

Quigley was lying on a sofa and police noticed a herbal substance on his trousers.

believed it was cannabis and when interviewed the defendant admitted it was cannabis.

A solicitor representing Quigley said he had gone out and brought the drugs and then went to a friend’s house to smoke them.
