Police patrols stepped up after thefts

POLICE have stepped up patrols in Londonderry following reports of thefts from cars and garden sheds in the Ballymagroarty, Hazelbank and Foyle Springs areas.

Residents are urged to be vigilant and to assist police by taking the appropriate steps to protect their property.

The PSNI said this includes not leaving valuables lying in cars, ensuring garden sheds are properly secured and keeping doors and windows closed and locked.

If you do see strangers in the area or unknown cars take a note of any relevant details and pass that information to police immediately.
