Police poaching

Police in Ballycastle are working with DCAL Officers to tackle the issue of poaching in the area.

In recent operations nets, a car and a number of fish have been seized by the Rivers Agency.

Robust action will be taken against anyone caught committing this type of activity in the area, which may result in prosecution through the courts and may also lead to boats and private vehicles being seized.

Anyone who has any information regarding poaching in the area is asked to contact the police at Ballycastle on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information about crime can be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity by calling 0800 555 111.

Woman arrested

ON Monday 13 August a 33 year old woman was arrested after being involved in a road traffic collision along Leyland Road, Ballycastle.

She has been charged to court for allegedly being in charge of a motor vehicle when unfit.

Heating oil taken

Sometime between the 9th August and 15th August approximately 600 litres of home heating oil is believed to have been stolen from an address in the Whitehall Avenue area of Ballycastle.

The incident was reported on Wednesday 15th August.

Property stolen

Sometime between Thursday evening 16th August and Friday morning 17th August items are believed to have been stolen from the yard of a property along the Whitepark Road, Ballycastle.

The items included two generators, two galvanised ramps, two chainsaws, a welder, an Ivor Williams horsebox trailer and a small aluminium car trailer. The incident was reported on Friday 17th August.

Vehicle damaged

Sometime between 1.10pm and 1.50pm on Saturday 18 August damage was caused to the passenger side of a Suzuki SX4 parked on the Quay Road, Ballycastle.

Man arrested

Saturday 18th August - a 43 year old man has been arrested and charged to court for allegedly driving with excess alcohol after being stopped along Clare Road, Ballycastle.
