Police praised for drugs find

Police seized drugs with an estimated street value of £4,500 following the search of a house in Golf Terrace. on Friday September 26.

Inspector Nigel Graham, Banbridge Neighbourhood and Response,commented: “We conducted the search of a house on Friday morning, September 26 and recovered a quantity of white powder, cannabis, tablets and prescription medication.

“We have made our commitment to tackling the issue of drugs clear and we will continue to act on all information we receive.

“Our enquiries into this seizure are continuing and I would ask anyone with information to contact us at Banbridge Station on the 101 number.”

Upper Bann MP David Simpson has praised the PSNI on their “continued efforts to crack down on the level of illegal drugs circulating in the Banbridge area”.

Mr Simpson said: “We are so often reminded of the tragic circumstances that can result from the illegal misuse of substances.

He continued: “A severe dent has been put in the drug trafficking campaign following this seizure .”
