Police probe damage to six cars at Ballybrakes

Police in Ballymoney are investigating damage to a number of vehicles which were parked in Ballybrakes Industrial Estate overnight on 22-23 December.

Six cars had their windows smashed and the glass was also smashed in the windows of two premises in the Industrial Park although police believe there was no attempt to gain entry.

Inspector David Anderson said: “This appears to be wanton destruction of peoples property and achieves absolutely nothing other than to cause considerable inconvenience and expense.

“For anyone to do this two days before Christmas, at a time when the vast majority of people are extending good wishes and goodwill is particularly difficult to understand.

Police officers have visited the scene this morning (Friday) and will be leaving no stone unturned to identify those responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the Ballybrakes area from 11pm onward on Thursday night to contact police on 0845 6008000 to assist us with this investigation. Alternatively callers can use the Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.”
