Police probe ‘hate crime’ assault on man in Harpur’s Hill

A man has been treated in hospital after being assaulted in Coleraine.

The incident, which police are treating as a hate crime, took place at residential premises in the Glebe Avenue area of Harpur’s Hill on Thursday night.

Police received reports that three unknown masked man entered the property and assaulted the man with baseball bats.

The man received injuries to his body and hands and was taken to hospital.

A woman who was also in the house at the time was badly shaken during the incident.

Anyone who noticed any unusual activity in the area or who has any information is asked to contact detectives in Coleraine.
