Police probe Islandmagee burglary

Larne detectives are investigating a burglary in the Ballylumford Road area of Islandmagee, which is thought to have taken place between Saturday, July 12 and Tuesday, July 15.

The home owners left the area on Saturday, July 12 for a few days and were contacted by neighbours who realised the house have been broken into. Police believe the offenders were in the house and garage for some time and took a large number of items, including a laptop, musical instruments, paintings, golf clubs and bicycles.

Detectives are appealing for home owners to take some simple crime prevention measures before they go on holidays. This includes securing all doors and windows, asking neighbours or families to check the house or informing police that your house will be vacant for a time.
