Police probe serious assault in Lurgan

A local resident disturbed three males in the Dingwell Park area who were in the process of stealing a motorbike.

When he confronted them, he was struck on the head with a metal bar resulting in him having 23 staples to the wound.

They then took the motorbike and abandoned it near Glenholme Avenue after being pursued by the owner.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or information reference a serious assault that took place in the area of Dingwell Park in Lurgan.

Police have urged anyone who may have seen anything related to this crime between the hours of 1.40am and 2.40am on 11 January 2015 to contact Lurgan Police on the non emergency 101 number.
