Police promise to address issues of rural crime

Police in H District met with David McIlveen MLA last Monday (August 20) to discuss the work local officers are doing in relation to tackling rural crime.

A briefing took place at Ballymena PSNI which provided an excellent opportunity to highlight the good work being completed across the District in dealing with rural crime.

Initiatives such as trailer marking, the rural text alert scheme and the ongoing rural crime operation were all discussed.

The meeting was also an opportunity for officers to address rural crime issues that have a wider impact across Northern Ireland.

T/Superintendent John Magill said: “The meeting was very productive and was excellent opportunity for police to discuss with Mr McIlveen their efforts in dealing with rural crime.

“Officers across H District have established a strong working relationship within the rural community and it is important their efforts are recognised on a wider scale.”
