Police renew appeal after man dies due to Kilroot crash injuries

Police are renewing their appeal for information on a four-car road traffic collision near Kilroot after a man in his seventies died due to injuries sustained in the incident.

The incident occurred on the Larne Road near Kilroot, Carrickfergus, on the evening of Sunday May 29.

Just after 6.50pm, police received a report of a road traffic collision.

The four cars involved were a silver Mercedes E250 Sport, a silver Mercedes CLC180 Sport, a white Mini Cooper and a black Volkswagen Golf.

Constable Peter Grimes said: “I would particularly like to speak to a male who was walking his dog along the Larne Road, Carrickfergus at the time of this incident, as he may have information which would assist with our enquiries.

“I would also appeal to anyone else who may have information about this incident to contact Police at Larne on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1166 of 29/05/16.”
