Police renew appeal for witnesses to serious assault

POLICE officers investigating a serious assault in Glengormley on September 2 have renewed their appeal for witnesses to come forward.

A man in his 40s was left with serious internal injuries following an altercation involving a number of males outside a takeaway in Farrier Court at around 2am.

It’s believed the man may have been kicked a number of times while he was on the ground.

Two other males aged in their teens also reported sustaining minor injuries during the incident.

Police have spoken to a number of witnesses who were in the area at around the time of the incident and have also interviewed a number of people in connection with possible offences, but investigating officers are still keen to speak to anyone else who may have information about what happened.

“Anyone who believes they can assist the investigation in any way should call 0845 600 8000. Alternatively if someone would prefer to provide information without leaving their name they can contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
