Police say New Year’s Day burglaries may be linked

Police have issued an appeal for information following three burglaries which they believe may be linked.

“On January 1 officers responded to three reports of burglary between 2:50am and 3:50am. Two of the reports came from houses in Princes Drive, Whiteabbey and one in Hydepark Manor, Mallusk,” Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Freeburn explained.

“At each scene, burglars had forced entry and a variety of items were taken, including cash and jewellery.

“Detectives in CID would like anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in these areas between 2:30am and 4am on January 1 to contact them on the non-emergency number 101. Or if someone would like to pass information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111,” he added.
