Police search in Magherafelt uncovers herbal cannabis

Officers carrying out proactive drugs searches linked to Operation Torus, the PSNI’s initiative to tackle street-level drug dealing, have recovered suspected herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of £50,000. Sgt. Sam Young said, “On March 21st, Neighbourhood Officers in Magherafelt carried out a search and uncovered the suspected cannabis and gardening equipment.

“Enquiries are ongoing , however we are investigating the possibility that this may be linked to possible cultivating activity.

Police will continue to disrupt and detect those involved in the sale or production of drugs and would ask that if anyone notices any suspicious activity to their local Police on the 101 number.”
