Police would like to hear from anyone who has information about the owner, driver or movements of this vehicle.

The vehicle was understood to have been bearing false English reg plates. It also has a distinctive home-made roof made from blue tarpaulin.

It follows an incident in the Dergenagh Road area of Dungannon on the night of Monday 06 January.

At approximately 10.45pm it was reported that a cattle lorry had been blocked in a laneway by a local farmer and his neighbours and the occupants of the lorry had made off across fields.

Police responded to the incident and a search of the surrounding area was conducted by officers and a police dog without success. It is believed that the occupants of the lorry were attempting to steal cattle in the area before they were disturbed. Police have seized the lorry and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or who saw anyone in the area of Dergenagh Road around the time of the incident to contact them at Dungannon Police Station on 0845 600 8000. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
