The 47-year-old was kayaking in the waters off Portmuck, Islandmagee on Monday afternoon, but failed to return to shore.

A massive search and rescue operation was launched, involving four helicopters, six lifeboats and a number of Coastguard teams. The search extended from Carrickfergus to Ballycastle, while searches also took place off the Co Down coast.
