Police step up security around Ballymena area

POLICE are stopping traffic across the Ballymena area and increasing patrols as part of the PSNI's approach to 'stop and arrest those who are intent on attacking local communities' it was revealed yesterday (Monday).

Inspector Pete Bouma, of the Neighbourhood Policng Team, said: “With the help and support of local people, we will disrupt these criminals and put them before the courts.

Police remain committed to working with all communities to provide the personal, professional and protective service and support you deserve.

"We recognise this may cause some inconvenience at times, but I hope the local community will understand and support our aim to keep safe all who live and work in the borough,” he said.
