Police thank residents after robbery foiled

THREE men have been arrested after police foiled the theft of a shed in Lurgan at the weekend.

The PSNI responded to reports of suspicious activity in the Carrigart Cresent area on Saturday.

Three men were discovered in the back garden of a house and were arrested.

It is understood a man was seen jumping up and down on a trampoline in the garden prior to the arrests.

A 23 year old man, who was charged with attempted theft and going equipped for theft, is to appear before Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on 17 May, 2013. A 53 year old man and 31 year old man were released pending report to the PPS.

Sergeant Clements, Craigavon Response, said: “We work so much more effectively with the support and help of the local community. Local information is vital to how we respond to and tackle crime and, on this occasion, your concern over suspicious activity enabled us to respond quickly and make arrests.

“You know your own area best and if you do notice something which looks out of place or suspicious please contact us straight away.”
