Police to revisit shooting scene

Police are set to revisit the scene of a shooting incident which took place in Ballymoney on November 13.

It was reported that at around 7:15pm, a man was attacked by a number of masked and armed males outside his house in the Bann Road area of Ballymoney. He was struck around the head and body and also received a gun-shot wound to his back. The man who is aged in his 30’s remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The suspects are believed to have made off from the scene in a car in the direction of Bendooragh. A 36-year-old male was arrested yesterday (Thursday) in the Ballymoney area in connection with this incident and has been released on bail pending further enquires.

Detective Inspector Bob Blemmings said: “We plan to revisit the Bann Road on Sunday, November 20 between 5pm and 9pm to speak to motorists and hand out flyers to help identify any potential witnesses who have not yet come forward.

“I am appealing to anyone that may have any information or have witnessed any suspicious activity in the Bann Road area on Sunday, November 13 to contact detectives at Coleraine Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1068 13/11/16 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
