Police treating attack as hate crime

Police are treating an incident during which a bottle was thrown at a man in Lurgan Park as a hate crime.

The incident happened on Sunday, June 9 at a laneway close to Brownlow House.

It was reported that at around 8pm, a man was struck on the head by a glass bottle which had been thrown at him by a group of men as he walked along the lane with a friend. He was later treated at hospital for injuries which are not life threatening.

This incident is being treated as a hate crime by police, and anyone with any information is asked to contact them at Lurgan on 0845 600 8000.
