In a post on their Craigavon Facebook site, they said one person had come away with “ whiplash and a very, very red face”.

They said, “This is why we are careful when we overtake. Things like...ensuring the vehicle ahead of you isn’t indicating to turn right, for example!!

“It is also why you should wear your seatbelt. Had it not been for the belt, we would almost certainly have had to knock a door, either to tell a loved one to get to hospital quickly, or to tell them there was no point.

“Even if you’re “just popping down the road”, belt up. It’s just not worth the risk.

“Thankfully, one very bad decision by this driver was countered by a very good one made at the start of the journey.”

A police spokesperson said, “Just after 5pm on Saturday, August 20, police received a report of a road traffic collision on the Aughnacloy Road, Banbridge.

“One woman, aged in her 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment to her injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.”
