Mr Dickson said: “All types of businesses were represented, from small and medium-sized to some of the constituency’s largest employers.

“The audience was struck by the positive message that there is effective support available to all those who want to get into employment.”

He added: “This event rebuffed the damaging perception that training and employment opportunities do not exist in East Antrim.

“There is something for everyone, with A4e working particularly hard to help those facing difficulties arising from substance abuse, criminal records and disability.”

East Antrim MLA Mr Dickson also thanked the event sponsor, Belfast International Airport, and congratulated them on their 50th year in business.
