Brewster to stand as Independent

BUSHMILLS community activist Derwyn Brewster is standing as an Independent in the forthcoming Moyle Council election.

The 37-year-old family man with two children and has been involved in community work for about 15 years,

He was the first Chairperson of Bushmills Residents & Environmental Forum, a position he stood down from a couple of months ago to concentrate on the election.

He is also a Director of Bushmills Ulster Scots Heritage which is trying to get funding for a Culture Research & Tourist Information Centre.

Mr Brewster also attends Moyle Housing Community Forum which he says gives him the chance to put people’s housing problem’s to the table

and “there’s plenty of them in our community”.

He also helped set up Bushmills Village Forum and he is the Secretary of Bushmills Children & Young Peoples Services as well as a director Bushmills Trust.
