Brewster ‘will shout from the sidelines’

DEFEATED candidate in the Causeway electoral area of Moyle Council, Independent Derwyn Brewster, says he will continue his work for the Bushmills community.

He said: “First of all i would like to thank Mr Lewis and his staff for a very professionally run count,

“I would also point out Stephanie from Moyle District Council who put up with my consistent phone calls every day leading up to the election and was very helpful every time.

“I also want to thank Leanne Abernethy, my agent, and everyone who helped in my campaign, also a big thank you to the 170 people who gave me their first preference vote. It was a fantastic journey and I made a lot of friends along the way, I am very disappointed we didn’t make it. Also the messages of support I got from the people of Bushmills would blow you away, I thank you again,

“It was only the transfer of votes that put me out, especially the DUP transfers that went to the TUV and knocked me out of the last seat.

“I would like to congratulate the successful candidates. There were only 139 votes between first and last and hope they will deliver what they promised to the people of Bushmills and surrounding areas, I watch your every move.

“I will continue my community work and work on the bread and butter issues this community have. We still have a voice and I shall continue shouting from the side lines on your behalf,” said Mr Brewster.
