Backing for Warm Homes scheme

A DELEGATION from the Democratic Unionist Party have visited the home of a Warm Homes scheme client to see first hand the benefits of the scheme.

The Warm Homes scheme is funded by the Department for Social Development, administered by the Housing Executive and delivered by Bryson Energy in the Lurgan area.

The scheme is targeted at homeowners and private tenants who receive a qualifying benefit, and provides a package of insulation and heating measures.

The trio of David Simpson MP, Stephen Moutray MLA, and Mayor of Craigavon Cllr Carla Lockhart visited the Lurgan home of George Sloan, who recently had loft insulation installed through the Warm Homes scheme.

Mayor Carla Lockhart said: “What we have seen here today illustrates the huge difference this scheme can make to people’s lives, their warmth, their comfort; and their heating bills.

“I would encourage local residents interested in the scheme to call into their constituency office where their local representatives will be able to advise them on their eligibility for Warm Homes and assist them in submitting an application.”

Delighted with the measures installed, Mr Sloan commended the work which was carried out, He said: “I was very impressed by the high standard of work and the professionalism of the service provided by Bryson Energy and the contractors.

“The insulation has made a huge difference to the warmth of my home and I would recommend the Scheme to anyone who is eligible.”

Louise Magee, Referrals Manager with Bryson Energy said: “The scheme provides a package of insulation and heating measures to eligible home owners and private rented tenants who are in receipt of a qualifying benefit.
