Plans to extend and refurbish a Tandragee car showroom are to be re-advertised by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.

The planning application, submitted by agent R E Quinn Architects Ltd on behalf of Ballylisk Car Sales will if approved see the car room showroom extended, a re-arrangement of the existing workshop/service building and an external refurbishment at 133 Portadown Road, Tandragee.

In an environmental and site use document submitted for the application, it is explained that the purpose of this application is to: “consolidate the existing main core car sales, servicing and associated activities”.

This will be achieved be “extending the existing car showroom to provide more space for three additional new car spaces with additional sales staff office accommodation.

“This will be supplemented by improving the existing servicing and parts with alterations within the existing building which includes the main garage workspace.

“The proposed work to this building will include external refurbishment and alterations to the shell to compliment the adjacent car showroom.”

The document also notes that if these plans are approved, the existing shop with fuel sales forecourt facilities at the site will close, resulting in less activity on site and less noise for the surrounding area.

If the refurbishment and expansion is approved there will be no change to the premises hours of operation and no new external lighting will be installed.

The application is to be advertised on Friday, August 21 and this advert will run until Friday September 4.
