Despite Council making residents aware of changes in service as a result of the July bank holiday, collections in some areas of Portadown and Lurgan are unlikely to take place as planned on Saturday, July 11.

Speaking to the Local Democracy Reporting Service a spokesperson for Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council confirmed that households in these areas may experience a disruption.

“Households in the Lurgan and Portadown area may experience disruption to their holiday bin collection service on Saturday, July 11.

“Arrangements are in place to ensure all bins are emptied, and residents are asked to leave their bin at the kerbside until it is collected week commencing Monday, July 13.”

A letter to councillors, sent by Council’s Democratic Services Manager, Wendy Geary and seen by the Local Democracy Reporting Service advises of service disruption to household bin collections.

“This disruption only applies to the Carn depot,” the letter reads.
