The application lodged by agent The Designworks Studio on behalf of the applicant, Hanover FC, will see the installation of two prefabricated spectator stands at Brownstown Park Sports Ground.

The application has also gained approval for the replacement of the existing 1.5m high perimeter security fence and gates with a 2m high fence and gates.

During the discussion on the proposal, Councillor Sam Nicholson asked for detail on the fencing and the stands.

He was advised that the new fence will be a black paladin fence and the spectator stands will be made from galvanised sheet metal and finished with a black powder coating.

DUP Alderman Sydney Anderson said the proposal would be a “great asset to the local community”.

“I welcome this proposal coming forward from Hanover FC,” said Alderman Anderson.

“Hanover FC is a progressive and successful club and it is good to see enhanced fencing and the provision of spectator stands in this proposal.

“This application, if approved, will be a great asset to the local community and wider area.”

Alderman Anderson then proposed that the application for planning permission be approved.

This proposal was seconded by his party colleague, Alderman Gareth Wilson and was approved by the committee.
