The customer confidence initiative comes as the economic recovery from the pandemic continues in Ballymena, Larne, Carrickfergus and surrounding villages.

The Mayor, Councillor Peter Johnston, said: “As our borough moves through the first stages of recovery, one of our main priorities is ensuring that our businesses are prepared and protected in order to welcome the public back safely.

“The customer confidence stickers shows the public that businesses are taking the necessary steps to help customers feel at ease, feel safe, and above all have an enjoyable experience when shopping and going about their daily business.

“I am confident that, by continuing to work closely with our business community, council will continue to deliver on its commitment to the next phase of post-Covid-19 recovery.”

The local authority has set up a Town Centre Recovery Group focused on helping retailers reopen their doors safely, so that shoppers can have peace of mind that all appropriate measures are in place.
