Newline Recycling Centre in Lurgan to close for resurfacing works
Newline Household Recycling Centre in Lurgan is to be closed for three weeks in February to allow major resurfacing works to take place.
Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council is urging residents to plan ahead and consider making use of the recycling centre before the temporary closure, from Monday, February 9 to Saturday, February 28, or wait until it reopens when the resurfacing works are completed.
The council said it is anticipated the facility will reopen to the public on Monday, March 2.
"This resurfacing work at Newline Household Recycling Centre is very important for the health and safety of all users to this busy site,” a spokesperson for the council said.
"We understand that these works will cause some inconvenience and disruption and to help minimise this, we are asking users to consider if they can plan ahead or wait until work is complete, to avoid delays at our other recycling centres which are very busy at this time of year.
"Household Recycling Centres are an integral component of the council waste management infrastructure, providing opportunities for recycling, reuse and waste disposal and the resurfacing of Newline is essential regarding the maintenance of these facilities.”
