Dobson cleans up at Scarva PS

Ulster Unionist Assembly Candidate Jo-Anne Dobson helped children from Scarva Primary School as they participated in the Tidy NI Spring Clean Event recently.

As part of the school’s participation in the Eco-Schools project Mrs Dobson, accompanied by UUP council candidate John Hanna, helped schoolchildren from Miss Gordon’s Eco Team to tidy up the school grounds.

She said, “It’s extremely important that children learn the value of keeping our streets and countryside tidy. This project encourages people across Northern Ireland to join together to clean and learn about correctly disposing of waste.

“Scarva took the top title in the prestigious SuperValu Best Kept Town and Village for 2010. It has been the recipient seven such ‘Best Kept’ awards, including the 2006 Northern Ireland Title. The pupils of Scarva Primary School are leading the way through their participation in this project and I look forward to many more ‘Best Kept’ titles coming Scarva’s way as a result.”
