Speaking outside the Electoral Office in Banbridge, Mrs Dobson said: “It was with a deep sense of honour and pride that, alongside my family, party colleagues, and friends, I submitted my nomination papers in my home town.

“Back in 2011, I made a promise to work tirelessly on behalf of local people and they put their trust in me to represent them.

“It is an honour to represent people across the constituency - whether it be in Portadown, Lurgan, Banbridge, or in rural areas - and I’m proud to have a reputation of working hard and getting the job done, whatever the issue.”

She added: “Today I renew that promise as I ask people to once again vote for a consistent track record of delivery, and to vote for an MP who will work hard for them every single day.

“It would be an honour to represent the people of Upper Bann in the House of Commons.”

Also present at the submission of the nomination papers was Ulster Unionist Leader, Mike Nesbitt MLA, who said: “Everyone I meet in Upper Bann is clear about what they think of Jo-Anne Dobson.

“They say she is a breath of fresh air in a stale political atmosphere; as hard working an elected representative you could hope to meet, and that she delivers for the people,” he said.

“I believe it’s time for voters to demand better - and Jo-Anne Dobson is the answer to that demand,” said the party leader.
