Elections 2014 - Beckett, Butler and Poots elected

The DUP’s Thomas Beckett and Ulster Unionist Robbie Butler have been elected in the Kilulltagh DEA on the first count, while in Downshire East a poll-topping Luke Poots stormed past the 1,000 quota tom in election with 1,245 first-preference votes.

Councillor Beckett topped the Killutagh poll with 1,216 votes, comfortably exceeding the 1,080 quota, while Mr Butler secured 1,180 first preference votes.

The DUP’s James Tinsley is marginally ahead of the remaining pack with 864 votes, closely followed by Sinn Fein’s Mary Kate Quinn, with 859.

In Downshire West Ulster Unionist Jim Dillon fell just short of the quota at stage one, with 912 votes,

NI21’s Neil NcNickle has been excluded in Downshire West and the party’s Mark Devenney has likewise been excluded, as have independents Robert Campbell and Sandra Wilson in Castlereagh East.
