Kelly slams slow roll out of energy scheme
The lack of progress made on the rollout of the Affordable Warmth Scheme has been criticised by SDLP Upper Bann MLA Dolores Kelly.
Almost 6,000 houses have applied since September but only 49 have been retrofitted with energy efficient measures. She said: “DSD must recognise the tight timeframe they have now created. I must impress upon the Minister the importance that his Department increases the speed at which they roll out this program. For many families and vulnerable individuals, another winter in fuel poverty could be too much.”
