Lammas Fair ideas on how to improve
BALLYCASTLE SDLP Councillor Dónal Cunningham has called on the local community to use their experiences of this year’s Lammas Fair to suggest how the event can be improved in future years.
He said: “The Fair, which has taken place for several centuries and brings visitors from all over the world to Ballycastle, belongs to the local community and its future should be shaped by them. Many people have suggested the need for a programme of community events to extend the celebrations.
“The Council needs to engage with the community and encourage the promotion of the Fair in a way that commands local support.”
