Mayor’s drive in a rally car a ‘scream’

The Mayor took a spin in a rally car on Saturday and kindly allowed to use a video of the result on our website.

She has praised the organisers of the Lurgan Park Rally on another successful event.

Cllr Lockhart said: “What a fantastic day in Lurgan Park! The Park was alive with rally followers, those who enjoy watching the sport, families and people from all arts and parts of Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK, Ireland, and further afield, in fact I spoke to one lady who was from Hong-Kong who was absolutely amazed at the magnitude of the event and the beauty of Lurgan Park.”

She went on: “Upon entry to the event it was evident that the crowds had turned out once again to see the Rally and to get a glimpse of the big names in Motor-Sport.

“They were not disappointed with Kris Meek, Kenny McKinstry, Gary Jennings and lots of others and, not forgetting Mrs Brown’s boys who were quite the attraction in the line up for co-drivers.

“As Mayor I was delighted to get a spin in a Ford Escort and a Subaru Impretza WRC. What an experience! I was proud of this event being hosted once again in Lurgan Park and I would commend all those behind the scenes.”
