McCrea to lobby minister on bypass decision

The Mid Ulster MLA who is a member of the DRD Committee, said: “Having been informed that the much needed Cookstown and Magherafelt by-passes are to be shelved due to lack of funding, I cannot help but feel extremely disappointed and concerned.

“There is no doubt that both these proposed projects are essential in easing congestion in both towns and I am positive that motorists will be outraged at this latest announcement.

“I plan to raise this issue with Mr Danny Kennedy, Minister for Regional Development to seek clarification on the matter and to appeal that his department reconsider their decision and work to providing the funds to progress these vital infrastructure projects for Cookstown and Magherafelt.”
