New face Duddy elected onto Council

DUP newly elected councillor George Duddy said he was “thrilled and humbled” by his election success.

Speaking to the Times shortly after being elected onto the Central ward, he said: “I am looking forward to the challenges of being a councillor. This will be a whole new experience.”

He said his vision was to bring a voice to the whole community not just to the people of the Coleraine Central ward.

Mr Duddy, who is married with two children - Sam a doctor in astrophysics and Laura a biomedical scientist - says he has an interest in policing and the District Policing Partnership.

He paid tribute to his family and his election agent John Sproule for their commitment throughout his campaign.
