‘Progress’ welcomed

GLENS Sinn Féin councillor Margaret Anne McKillop has welcomed progress being made on Tavanaghan Lane in Cushendall.

Ms McKillop said: “Tavanaghan Lane is a well-used access road in the village and is in a state of complete disrepair. Myself and my Moyle council colleagues, Cara McShane and Noreen McAllister are pleased that Council has agreed to write to the Roads Service to have the Lane upgraded.

“I will also be part of a Sinn Féin delegation that will meet with the Department of Regional Development Minister to discuss the issue at the beginning of next month. This thoroughfare leads onto nine homes and is used by schoolchildren and is in a shocking state. The drainage is completely inadequate and it is pockmarked with potholes so that anyone using it realises it is a dangerous surface. That is why I am pleased that Sinn Féin are making progress on this issue.”
