£34k for lawn mower out of ‘petty cash’
CRAIGAVON Borough Council paid almost £34,000 for a lawn mower - out of ‘petty cash’.
The £33,974.98 invoice for the new John Deere 7200 precision cut mower was paid in October this year to Johnston Gilpin and Co Ltd.
Sinn Fein’s Johnny McGibbon queried why such a large amount was taken from Petty Cash to pay for a substantial item.
The Chief Executive, Teresa Donaldson said she guessed it may have been an urgent payment but she would investigate it.
