Residents raise roads and lighting issues

POTHOLES, streetlights and overgrown grass feature prominently in the list of public complaints recently brought to Lagan Valley MLA Brenda Hale’s Dromore office.

Dromore Councillor, and Mrs. Hale’s office manager, Paul Rankin, this week reported that, having contacted Roads Service about a large pothole next to Dromore Police Station, he hoped the agency would swiftly undertake repairs.

Meanwhile, he thanked Roads Service’s Street-lighting Division for quickly responding when alerted to the removal of a safety plate from a light at Bridge Street.

Mrs. Hale added her own thanks to Roads Service for what she called their prompt action to address roads and lighting issues raised through her office.

Mr. Rankin went on, “Numerous local constituents have contacted Mrs Brenda Hale’s office with these and many other local issues.

“Also, I would thank Banbridge District Council for cutting the grassy area in the centre of Heron Wood, Dromore, after a local resident contacted Mr Jeffrey Donaldson MP at his monthly advice surgery in Mrs. Hale’s office.”

Mr. Rankin also thanked the council for erecting a new nameplate at Barban Hill, Dromore, this, again, after a member of the public raised the issue.

“We are pleased,” he said, “that this sign is now in place, on the opposite side of the road, just adjacent to Dromore Free Presbyterian Church. “The contact number for Mrs Hale’s office is 028 9269 8866 and we are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

“An email contact for the office is, [email protected] and an alternative contact number is 077 1483 5878.”
