TUV announces Bushmills candidate

TUV has completed its line up of North Antrim council candidates by announcing that Bushmills woman, Sharon McKillop (right), will run in the Giant’s Causeway District Electoral Area for a seat on Moyle Council.

Coming from a long established family in the area, Mrs McKillop is well known in the Bushmills district.

Married to Stephen with 3 children, Sharon and her family have long connections with their local village, Bushmills. She was involved with her father and brother’s joinery business, Causeway Joinery, and she and her husband started the Hip Chip. They now run a business in Dervock. Deeply interested in her local community and determined to see Bushmills and area gets a fair deal from Moyle Council. Eager to make things better she will fight vigorously on your behalf. A fresh face with fresh ideas.

Commenting on her candidature, Sharon McKillop said she had long been interested in local community issues and looked forward to fighting hard on Moyle Council for the people of Bushmills and the surrounding area.

“As a growth tourist area, local residents must get the benefit of the increasing revenue garnered in rates from this district for Moyle Council. We must have our fair share of expenditure by Council on local facilities and services. Sometimes it seems like Bushmills is the poor relation in the Council’s priorities. That is something I will not tolerate.”

Commenting on Sharon McKillop’s nomination TUV Leader Jim Allister said: “In Sharon McKillop the people of Bushmills and district will gain a representative both able and interested to fight on their behalf. She will give of her best and make, I believe, an excellent councillor. I look forward to campaigning with her in the coming weeks and in seeing her elected as a new strong voice for the Giant’s Causeway wards in the Council chamber in Ballycastle.”
