TUV to run three in elections

They are Bann Valley: William Blair; Ballymoney Town: William Kerr MBE; Bush Vale: Peter Deans

William Blair:

Having lived in Bendorragh for 44 years and raised his family there, William knows the needs and issues relevant to Bann Valley. Retired after long career as a painter and decorator he has the time to give dedicated service on the Council. A member of the Loyal Orders, he is a past District Officer in the Orange. Vice Chairman of Ballymoney TUV.

William Kerr MBE

With 25 years service in the military, having enlisted first as a Junior Irish Ranger before serving with the Royal Artillery and then the UDR/RIR, William saw service throughout the height of the IRA campaign. He was awarded the MBE for his service. He later worked in MOD Civil Service before facing medical retirement. Married to Heather he lives in Ballymoney. After a life of public service he would be delighted to serve on Ballymoney Council.

Peter Deans

Living in the area with his wife Laural and 3 children, Peter Deans knows and cares about the local needs and issues. A skilled tradesman Peter works as a joiner. He understands the pressures on families in these tough economic times and is determined to curb Council waste and get value for money services for ratepayers. Determined to make things better, he will vigorously fight on behalf of local ratepayers in Ballymoney Council. A fresh face with fresh ideas.

The TUV nominations see Cllr Audrey Patterson standing down, after 6 years representing Bann Valley, to fight the Assembly election. Cllr Patterson explained, “I don’t believe in double-jobbing, and that in itself distinguishes me from other candidates in the Assembly election. I want to give the people of North Antrim full-time representation in Stormont and it is interesting that whereas three of the DUP Assembly candidates and both the UUP candidates seek to double-job in both council and Stormont, only the TUV ticket of Jim Allister and me offer full-time commitment. I have enjoyed representing the people of Bann Valley for the past 6 years and now look forward to handing the baton on to William Blair, who I know will do a good job in Council. Likewise, William Kerr and Peter Deans will make up a dynamic and effective TUV team in the next Council.”
