Warm welcome for Leitrim playpark

SDLP MP Margaret Ritchie and Councillor Seamus Doyle have welcomed the news that work on a new playpark in Leitrim will be completed by early next year.

Ms Ritchie stated, “I am delighted that this new facility will soon be realised for the benefit of local children. At present, there is no such facility in the village and with the increase in young families, the new playpark will be very welcome.

“This new initiative will benefit people in the local area, particularly parents, as their children will be able to play in a safe environment.”

Councillor Doyle, Chair of the Leisure and Development Committee at Banbridge District Council, also welcomed the project.

He stated, “I have been lobbying for this facility for three years, and it is heartening that efforts have paid off to develop play facilities in Leitrim that will be off a very high standard.”
