Pond Park Nursery pupils celebrate exhibition opening

FORTY-FIVE young people from Pond Park Nursery and their parents met at Island Arts Centre on Thursday June 28 to celebrate the opening of their exhibition in The Community Arts Walkway.

The young people had worked with professional artist Sarah Kileff over the past year to create colourful canvases inspired by nature.

This opportunity has encouraged the young people to be creative, imaginative and work as a team. They had great fun working in this way and got to experiment with new materials.

The exhibition continues until August 30 in the Island Community Arts Walkway.

Principal of Pond Park Nursery Lois Wilson said: “The children have shown inventive use of paint using mixed media, showing a process of growth from one form into the other which is observable both in the techniques and the materials employed. We had a lot of fun creating these paintings and I hope you enjoy them too.”
