It follows the highly successful Carnegie UK Trust’s TestTown programme in the town in August.

The initiative is designed to provide entrepreneurs with an opportunity to trade for a two-week period over Easter in temporary premises secured by Mid and East Antrim Council.

Runnning at 2 Joymount from 9.30am – 4.30pm daily, there is a wide range of entrepreneurial talent on display with Afrecca Arts providing original artwork, Growing Smiles offering lifestyle coaching for oral and dental health, Murphy’s Bark’ery which offers low-fat, handcrafted treats for dogs, and Stitched which specialises in bespoke design.

The hope is that the scheme will provide a realistic chance for businesses to consider the viability of a long-term future within town centre retail.
