Popular Albert laid to rest

POPULAR Dervock man Albert Kane, who tragically passed away as a result of flames ripping through his countryside home, was laid to rest on Monday.

Family and friends gathered at James McMullan & Son Funeral Home in Ballymoney for a service which was followed by interment at Derrykeighan Parish Churchyard.

The community is still in shock at the passing of Albert (64) on March 6 including Mr Kane’s next door neighbour Steven Mitchell who not only lost a good friend but was also made homeless in the fire.

A PSNI spokesman said on Monday a full forensic investigation is still ongoing into the cause of the fire but at that stage there was nothing to indicate a crime.

The spokesman wished to pass on his sympathy to the family and friends of Mr Kane.
