Portrush could host World Police and Fire Games events
PORTRUSH is in line to host two events as part of the World Police and Fire Games in Belfast next year.
Councillors attending last Tuesday’s Leisure and Environment committee meeting at Cloonavin were told that directors of the Games from America visited Portrush last week to see the Watersports Centre at East Strand with a view to the venue hosting surf kayaking and beach volleyball.
This is the first time the Games - due to take place from August 5 to 10 - will have been hosted in the British Isles.
