Portrush residents evacuated during derelict house fire

Nearby properties had to be evacuated during a fire at derelict premises in Portrush this morning (Friday).

Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service dealt with the blaze in the Glenmanus Park area after it was reported at 7.10am

A NIFRS spokesperson said: “Two fire appliances from Portrush Fire Station were deployed to the scene of a two- storey terraced derelict house well alight in the area.

“Firefighters using thermal imaging cameras, jets, hosereel jets and wearing breathing apparatus dealt with the incident. A number of nearby properties were evacuated and received smoke damage during the incident.

“Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service finished at the scene at 9.09am and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.”
